Avellana flowers
These striking hand-carved flowers make an unusual bouquet on their own, or style them with dried flowers, teasel heads, allium heads or greenery. Buy a bunch of 3, 5, 7 or 9 for the allergy sufferer in your life or the friend who can’t keep anything alive.
Made with a shavehorse and drawknife using traditional greenwood techniques. The petals are shaved down but remain on the hazel stick until eventually the flower head pops off. The stem is a foraged hedgerow hazel stem. All natural and all from my Lake District valley.
Sometimes known as Gypsy roses or Gypsy flowers due to their origin in GRT communities. I call them Avellana flowers after the Hazel they are made from, Corylus Avellana.
Handwritten notes are available for any message you’d like to send with them, just let me know when you checkout.
Not suitable for outdoor use (they will uncurl and flop if they get wet). All the maintenance they need is a dusting every now and then.
Discounts are available for florists, weddings and other bulk orders. Please get in touch if you’re interested in placing an order.
